perspective
Just yesterday, i was travelling back home on the back of the lorry, wind in my hair, eyes squinting in the warm but welcoming dusk sun. We were travelling back from Jurong point, so the route's roughly similar to the one i take when i was shuttling between SP and home.
But this time it was entirely different, now it wasn't the wind in my somewhat miniscule bunch of hair im sure and it was definitely not the first time im seated at the back of the lorry.
The perspective was different.
Now let me explain, normally whilst driving home, my eyes are on the road ahead, shades on my eyes and safely cocooned in my good ol nissan sunny with the air con blasting. Now since i was seated on the lorry facing the back, everything was moving in reverse, the elements belting on me, and the the only air i breathe in was exhaust from malaysian lorries and their bas kilangs, all these, on the same stretch of road i mus have used a few dozen times.
But everything was so new, there were times i didn't even know where we were, it was so new i was giving myself this silly grin i give when i see something really new and cool. Everything was very, very beautiful i must say.
Food for thought, surely, we must have all experienced this, one way or another. We fail to stand back, look at our daily routines from a different perspective and enjoy that brand new breath of life into our boring and grey routines. We rant at our lives, we rant at how boring, how monotonous it is, so much so, we crave escape, but yet all we ever needed was probably perspective.
=) read and think.
